Refund policy

Age Policy

Adult classes are recommended for ages 18+. Participants must be 21+ with valid ID to consume alcohol at events. Children must be 6 years old by the start of any program to enroll in camps or after-school classes. Kids classes (clay, canvas, kids night) are drop-off for ages 6+. For younger children, adults may purchase a ticket to join them.

Deposit & Payment Terms

Select classes require a 50% non-refundable deposit at booking. Remaining balances will be invoiced approximately 2 weeks before the class start date. If the balance is not paid by the due date, your spot may be forfeited without refund. For Art Camp, a $150 non-refundable deposit is required. For the After School Program, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required.

General Cancellation Policy

No refunds are issued for cancellations made within 10 days of the class/event. Cancellations made 10 days to 48 hours before the class are eligible for rescheduling with a fee: $20 fee for adult classes, $15 fee for kids’ classes, and $5 fee for Clay Play. No refunds or credits are given for cancellations within 48 hours or for no-shows. Rescheduled classes must occur within 2 months of the original date. Cancellations must be submitted via email to info@justclayingaround.com

 

Weather & Studio Cancellations

If JCA cancels a class due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will offer a reschedule or refund. If a reschedule cannot be arranged, studio credit may be issued.

Product & Goods Refund Policy

All ceramic product sales are final unless damaged or defective upon arrival. Contact us immediately if there is an issue with your order. Items must be returned in unused, original condition within 14 days. We inspect all returned items before issuing refunds.

Adult Class Policy

Same cancellation/rescheduling policy as above. For sold-out events: No refunds or credits for cancellations made 10 days or less prior to the class.

Art Camp

$150 of the Art Camp payment is non-refundable at any time unless a doctor’s note is provided. Cancel more than 30 days before the start date: refund minus $150. Cancel 15–30 days before the start date: 25% refund. Cancel within 14 days: no refund. No credit or refund for missed classes once the session has started.

After School Program

$100 of the After School payment is non-refundable at any time unless a doctor’s note is provided. Cancel more than 30 days before the start date: refund minus $100. Cancel 15–30 days before the start date: 25% refund. Cancel within 14 days: no refund. No credit or refund for missed classes once the session has started.

Art Camp And After School Age Policy

Must be 6 years old before the 1st day of the program to enroll. These programs are designed for 6-13 years olds.

Medical Exceptions

We understand that medical issues may arise over the course of the program or just as your child is set to attend.  Please call us as soon as possible to inform us of your need to cancel.  We will ask that you submit a written excuse from your child’s physician.  If your child is sick and there is time and room, we will work with you to switch your child to another session. 

Missed Classes

We are unable to offer refunds, credits, or make-up sessions for missed classes due to personal scheduling conflicts, travel, illness, or other commitments. Please plan accordingly when registering.

 Private & Birthday Party Policy

  •  A $150 Deposit is non-refundable and holds your reservation.
  • The balance is due the day of your party.

  • Birthday parties are 90 minutes long and end promptly. Some private parties may be scheduled for up to 120 minutes. We may charge a fee if your party exceeds the allotted time slot.

  • Hosts may arrive no more than 15 minutes early for set up.
  •  Feel free to bring in any personal decorations to make your party special. Table cloths are not necessary.
  • JCA will supply all items necessary for the craft and plates and napkins for pizza if ordered.
  • You supply all of the paper goods and drinks.
  •  During the party your guests will be asked to stay in the party area unless they need to use the bathrooms or are instructed to do so by JCA staff.
  •  For parties that are not take home same day; Items will be ready for pick up in 10-14 days. We will call the host when ready. All items will be individually wrapped with guest’s names written on the outside.
  • There are no refunds or credits for party cancellations.

Photo & Email Consent

During checkout, customers may opt into email updates and consent to photography for promotional use. You may opt out of either at any time by contacting us.

Clay Classes

ALL Wheel Class Tickets are Non-refundable and non-transferable. No credits will be given. You may not move to another class.

We do our best to ensure your work survives each stage, but ceramic outcomes are not guaranteed. Cracks, air pockets, and attachment failures are common risks. JCA does not replace pieces lost in the firing process.

Medical Disclaimer

The use of pottery wheels may interfere with pacemakers. Please consult a medical professional before registering. By signing up, you assume all risk and release Just Claying Around from liability related to your personal health conditions.

Clay Play

A $5 rescheduling fee applies to cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance, within the 10-day window. No refunds or credits for cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows. Classes must be rescheduled within 2 months.

Kids Classes

A $15 rescheduling fee applies to cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance, within the 10-day window. No refunds or credits for cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows.

Rescheduled classes must take place within 2 months of the original class date. Outside that window there are no refunds

Age Policy We recommend ages 6 and up for drop off. For younger children adults can purchase their own ticket to make a project with their child.

Late Night Paint Night/Blaze & Glaze Events

No refunds within 10 days of the event. If canceled between 10 days and 48 hours before the event, credit may be applied to a future event (space permitting). No refunds or credits for no-shows or cancellations under 48 hours.

Gift Card & Gift Certificate Policy

Just Claying Around gift cards and store credits are valid for seven (7) years from the date of purchase. They can be used for classes, camps, or walk-in activities, and are redeemable online or in the studio.

Gift cards may not be used to purchase other gift cards or certificates. No change is given for unused balances; however, if 90% or more of the original value has been used, the remaining balance may be redeemed for cash upon request, as required by Massachusetts law.

Lost or stolen cards will not be replaced.

Firing Turnaround

Most pottery items will be ready for pickup within 10–14 days after creation. Glaze and kiln firing times may vary depending on volume and studio activity. JCA will contact you when your piece is ready.

No Outside Materials

For safety and quality control, no outside clay, glazes, or tools are permitted in our studio. All materials must be purchased through Just Claying Around. Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the studio unless it is during a private event or party where outside refreshments have been explicitly allowed.

Late Arrivals & Early Departures

Participants who arrive late or leave early may miss important instruction. Instructors will do their best to assist late arrivals, but classes will not be extended. No credits or refunds are provided for missed time.

Pickup Policy

Finished items must be picked up within 60 days of notification. We will contact the booking contact or host when items are ready. Unclaimed items may be discarded after 60 days due to limited storage.
